In order to ensure that the quality of the Elite Master's Programme in Advanced Materials and Processes remains at the highest possible standard, quality management methods have been established on several levels:

  • High level evaluations by an independent expert review panel commissioned by the Elite Network of Bavaria (ENB) every 5 years. In 2009 the successful evaluation resulted in ENB funding being extended to 2015. The next high level evaluation took place in November 2013 and was a great success. The ENB decided to grant the designation of MAP as an Elite Programe for a further 5 years to 2020
  • Regular evaluations by the ENB for which participants of all elite programmes fill in a survey.
  • Internal MAP evaluation of lectures and soft skills courses is carried out each semester
  • All students of FAU Erlangen-Nuremburg are asked to carry out an online evaluation of all lectures and courses towards the end of each semester. More details can be found here.
  • MAP is participating in the "system accreditation" currently taking place at the FAU Erlangen-Nuremburg. Thereby a comprehensive quality assurance is to be guaranteed.

All student evaluations are, of course, carried out anonymously and are entirely voluntarily. However, it is in the students’ own best interest to participate in the evaluations as much as possible. In addition to official evaluations and due to the particularly dynamic nature of the MAP programme, students are explicitly encouraged to direct questions, feedback and constructive suggestions to the MAP Chairs or administrative staff.
